While our favourite spectrofluorometer is the Aminco Bowman Series II, the LS50B does have it's own advantages. For starters Aminco Bowman series IIs are extremely rare. We have a difficulty finding more then 2 or 3 per year to buy and we wrote a custom computer program to scan the Internet to achieve even this. The Perkin Elmer LS50B is far more common and this means there are more accessories to choose from on the used market. They are also less expensive then the Aminco Bowman units. Like the Aminco Bowman the LS50B has most of it's chips in sockets, making servicing the circuit boards easier. If you already have an LS50B, we have a large number of parts in stock including various sample chambers such as the microplate holder. We can also repair your circuit boards. Unfortunately as of June 2010 we have not cross referenced the Xenon lamp and we must purchase them from Perkin Elmer, we hope to rectify this soon.

-The Xenon lamp is replaced
-The serial cable is replaced
-Sample chamber cooling lines(if applicable)


In addition we carry out several operations to improve the spectrofluorometer's performance and appearance.

-The monochromator wavelength accuracy is calibrated
-Monochromator wavelength drives are lubricated
-Optics are cleaned(minus the grating)
-Signal to noise is checked and samples are run
-Covers are sanded, filled and repainted
