We offer refurbished spectrofluorometers. We also offer repairs and spare parts. Our primary models are the Perkin Elmer LS50B and the Aminco Bowman Series II.

We sell our spectrofluorometers with two year warranties. When the vulnerable parts that should be replaced are, the instrument has a new lease on life. Our goal is to offer instruments that will give five more years of service. These expectations are in fact quite similar to those selling new instruments. We have successfully supported many spectrofluorometers through two year warranties, including ones shipped to overseas customers. To our knowledge we are the only used vendor of spectrofluorometers that is willing to offer a two year warranty. However our prices are comparable to vendors offering 90 day warranties.

Advances made by computer manufacturers are mind boggling. New computers really do make old ones obsolete. A 10 year old computer has little value and while still usable it's resale value is just scrap metal. Compare hard drive capacity with old and new computers. A terabyte drive(1000 gigabytes) can now be purchased for under $100, unthinkable only a few years ago, while the old computer cost much more in it's "day" and had 1/1000 or less of the storage capacity.

Progress with analytical instrumentation could not be more different. Aside from easier to use software much of the progress has been cosmetic. By actual specification, Gas Chromatographs, HPLC systems and Spectrophotometers have improved very little over the past 15 to 20 years. Spectrofluorometers are also no exception to this.

At one point all of our prices were posted online. Since the subprime fiasco of 2007 we have had an increasingly difficult time keeping our online prices up to date with the number of currencies that we normally quote in. Worse yet (for us) the prices of many instruments are in a state of flux. At this time(June 2010) we are in a buyer's market, this is an excellent time to buy used instrumentation, with prices approximately 10-15% lower then in 2007. Unfortunately we have had to switch from an online pricing setup to a quote-on-request one.
